Conditions of Hire 

The Maryborough Basketball Stadium is available to hire for private, non-commercial use. A minimum of 48 hours' notice is preferred. The hire is for the timber playing court only and does not include basketballs or training equipment.

Liability for Injuries 
The Maryborough Basketball Association (MABA) accepts no responsibility or liability for any injuries, accidents, or health-related issues that occur during the use of the stadium facilities. All participants and hirers enter and use the premises at their own risk. 

Responsibility for Damages 
Should you find the stadium damaged upon entry, please contact MABA immediately to inform of the damages. The hirer is responsible for any damage caused to the stadium, equipment, or property during the hire period. This includes damage caused by the hirer, their participants, or spectators. The cost of repairs or replacements will be charged to the hirer. 

Insurance 
Hirers are strongly encouraged to arrange their own public liability and personal injury insurance to cover any unforeseen incidents. 

Cancellations and Refunds

  • A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for users cancellations. 

  • Cancellations made within 24 hours of the booking may incur a full charge. 

  • Refunds will only be issued at the discretion of MABA. 

  • MABA may need to cancel bookings for maintenance and unforseen circumstances. In these instances, an alternative booking may be offered.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Only clean and dry playing shoes are to be worn on the playing surface.  

  • The hirer must leave the stadium in a clean and tidy condition. 

  • All rubbish must be removed or placed in designated bins. 

  • Additional cleaning fees may apply if the venue is left in an unsatisfactory state. 

  • Large cloth scissor mops are provided to ensure the playing surface is left clean. 

Prohibited Activities 

  • Smoking, alcohol consumption, and illegal substances are strictly prohibited within the stadium and grounds. 

  • Activities or equipment that may damage the playing surface are not permitted. 

  • No food, drink or chewing gum is to be consumed on the playing surface. 

  • No animals are allowed inside the venue, except for registered assistance animals. 

Compliance with Rules 
Hirers must comply with all stadium rules, safety guidelines, and instructions provided by staff. Failure to comply may result in immediate termination of the hire without refund. 

CCTV Monitoring 
The stadium is equipped with CCTV cameras for security and safety purposes. By hiring the facility, the hirer acknowledges and consents to video surveillance during the hire period. Footage may be used to investigate incidents, damages, or breaches of these conditions.  

Indemnity 
The hirer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless MABA, its officers, and volunteers from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from the hirer’s use of the facilities.
