Senior Registration and Fees

These fees help offset the costs associated with providing quality Basketball competition on the Fraser Coast including stadium maintenance, etc.

  • $45 Registration – $5.00 per game per person.  Registration fees are to be paid within two weeks of season commencement.  A late payment fee of $15 will apply if paid after this time.

Note:  Competition point reductions apply from Week 3 for every un-financial player per team.
Eg:- Win 3pts less 2 players un-financial = 1pt for the Win.
Eg:- Loss 1pt less 2 players un-financial = -1pt for the Loss.

This will continue until all fees are paid in full. Players who also consistently do not pay game fees will also afford their team with loss of competition points.

Player registration fees are not generally refundable or discounted, however, the committee may consider written applications for registration fee refund or discount on a case by case basis.

Grand Finals are free to participating team members.

Borrowing Players

  • If a player is borrowed from another team as a once-off fill in, please notate a “B” beside the borrowed players name on the scoresheet. This will inform the draw organiser that they are not a regular team member and therefore not to be rostered for duties for your team.

Borrowing Players to Save Forfeit

  • A registered player or registered junior may be borrowed from a lower grade to a higher grade. But a registered higher graded player cannot be borrowed to a lower grade without permission from the committee.
  • A player must have three games with a team to qualify for the Finals.
  • Once a player has had 5 games with a higher team within a grade, then that becomes their permanent team.

Example:

Women’s B Grade has 2 Zodiacs teams named Magpies as number one ranked teams and Crows as number 2 ranked team. (rankings are usually graded from the previous season’s results).

B. Bloggs starts playing with the Crows and gets borrowed once or twice by Magpies. Magpies has trouble fielding a team for the remainder of the season. B. Bloggs plays 3 games with the Magpies and so therefore qualifies for either Magpies or Crows for the semi finals, but can only take the court for one team.

But if B. Bloggs has 5 games with Magpies then Crows becomes her permanent team.

  • A Senior player cannot play in more than two sets of finals eg. B1 & B2 grades, or B1 & A grades, or C & B Grade.

Grading

  • Players must nominate for the lowest grade that they intend to play. Once graded If a player wishes to go to a lower grade a letter must be sent to the Secretary of the Association requesting to be allocated to a lower grade ( admin@maryboroughbasketball.com This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it ).

Changing Teams

  • If a player wishes to change teams within the same grade permanently, the change must be made before the end of the first round. A letter of request must also be forwarded to the Committee via the Secretary ( admin@maryboroughbasketball.com This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it )

Penalty Points

  • Team points will be deducted for teams not fulfilling their rostered duties (player referee, score bench) or for playing un-financial players.
  • Competition point reductions apply from Week 3 for every un-financial player per team.
    Eg:- Win 3pts less 2 players un-financial = 1pt for the Win.
    Eg:- Loss 1pt less 2 players un-financial = -1pt for the Loss.
