MABA Guidelines for Returning to Basketball

Resumption of Junior and Senior Competitions and Rep Training

Training and Competition Processes

      

  • Entry will be through Frank St gate and exit from Ariadne doors
  • A training/playing register will need to be completed upon entry
  • Turn up a maximum of 10 minutes prior to game start time and expect to leave immediately after game – we ask that you do not hang around to socialise after completion of game
  • Sanitising requirements continue from Stage 2 – basketballs to be sanitised before entry permitted
  • Treatment of shared equipment to continue from Stage 2 – NO SHARING OF WATER BOTTLES, SWEAT TOWELS, BASKETBALLS ETC
  • Personal hygiene mandatory – please wash hands or sanitise whenever needed during gameplay or training
  • Junior team singlets will be hired out at start of season and returned at end of season – IT IS TEAMS DUTY TO LOOK AFTER SINGLETS FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON
  • Teams will be deducted points for playing in plain clothes and not team singlet
  • No senior teams will be given singlets
  • There will be a layover time between games so stadium and outdoor settings can be cleaned – please be patient with us while this is completed
  • Playing shoes are not to be worn into stadium

Physical Distancing

  • Social distancing requirements continue from Stage 2 as per government regulations – spectator numbers to be determined by the 1 person per 4 square metre rule
  • Avoid handshakes, high fives, team huddles before, during and after games
  • Avoid any unnecessary contact
  • Only coaches and players permitted to sit on team bench – NO EXCEPTIONS

Personal Health

     

  • Requirements of personal hygiene to continue from Stage 2
  • Monitor your health – if unwell please stay home – ENTRY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED IF SICK
  • We ask that any players or spectators that have visited a “HOT SPOT” to please stay home and quarantine for 14 days before returning to basketball
  • Cover coughs or sneezes either with elbow or tissue and wash hands immediately after
  • No spitting
  • Mouthguards are not to be removed during gameplay and must be sealed away when not in use
  • Avoid touching eyes, mouths, and nose
  • Please come prepared for game – get dressed at home, shower at home
  • Water fountain will be CLOSED – we encourage you to bring multiple bottles of water to your game
  • Sanitise hands upon entry and exit of stadium

General

  • Entry to clubroom will not be permitted
  • Entry to changerooms will not be permitted
  • Canteen will remain closed until further notice

PLEASE NOTE – THESE GUIDELINES WILL BE REVISED AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF BASKETBALL QUEENSLAND

WHILE COVID-19 IS STILL A RISK, WE ASK THAT YOU RESPECT AND OBEY THE RULES THAT HAVE BEEN PUT IN PLACE.  THESE RULES ARE TO KEEP US ALL SAFE AND HEALTHY.  BE PATIENT WITH ALL VOLUNTEERS OF MABA WHILE WE NAVIGATE OUR WAY THROUGH STAGE 3.
