Survey – Preferred Playing Days
The days on which we play our various Junior/Senior fixtures has been the same now for many years. The Committee has become aware that in some cases these set fixture days conflict with other sports or activities that prevent people from participating in Basketball. The Committee is considering changing the fixture schedule to minimise such conflicts and enable maximum participation in the game. We have prepared a short survey to seek your views. The survey should only take a moment or two to complete and your input will help the committee understand when you would prefer to play. The survey will close on 28 January 2019. Thank you for your support.
No Zone – Junior Team U14 and Under
Please note, as of 2019 Junior Teams U14 and under will be unable to play zone defence in the half court. As we move towards more representative playing commitments we need to come into line with Basketball Australia’s recommendations that zone defence is not conducive to developing players.
Introduction of 24 Second Clock to Junior Games
Please note that the 24 second clock will be operated during all indoor games for all U14 and above age groups. This change is being introduced to assist all players develop in accordance with Basketball Australia’s recommendations. Training will be provided to the score bench.
Happy Festive Season
The Committee wishes you a safe and happy Christmas and New Year and we look forward to seeing you again in 2019.
